I purchased WPEverest to replace WPForms but looks like you have the same limitation. I am trying to setup a form that can upload encrypted documents and only look at the extension. I have Extra File Types plugin install and the “Check only file extensions” option is selected.

I have an easy way to test this show that it is not an issue with WordPress or my hosting but with WPEverest.

Download this test file This file has been protected using Azure Information Protection

    Go to

Post the test Word document using Contact Form 7 first and you will see the file is sent

Post the test Word document now using WPEverest which is the 2nd form on the page and you will see it fails.

    Hello Brian,

We the team at WPEverest are more concerned about security and your Azure Information Protected test file type is not permitted by WordPress for security reasons, as reported in this trac ticket #39550 and later re-opened in this ticket #40175. Thus Everest Forms will also don’t permit for such file to get uploaded 🙂

However, you can add a plugin Disable Real MIME Check and it should work like charm 🙂

If you have any queries please do follow-up 🙂
